Hello! I am Frantisek Strnadel (1997), typedesigner, graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and painter from Czech Republic. I studied of Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. I hope that in 20 years I will live in a wooden house somewhere under the mountains or I will become a freedom warrior in some totality country. I use nicknames for my art work, for illustration it is Mugen Print, for painting it is Ugoku (in japanese this means “move”). I studied woodcarving, sculpture and product design at high school so I’m very close to handcrafts. I admire the wabi-sabi philosophy associated with Japanese ceramics. I love Socialist Brutalism architecture, Japanese Metabolism architecture, which is very close to brutalism and Czech sculpture series in socialism – Aliens and Herons. I like to experiment in any field of art.
I also ride a bike, travel (hitchhike) and boulder. I am interested in foreign indigenous cultures like African, American Indians, Asian.
I worked for Prague auction gallery KODL like an external graphic designer on selected projects. Now I’m working in graphic studio B tým in Brno, and collab with Prague publishing house PageFive, but I am always interested in crazy projects. And now be careful my friend, because I’m fresh co-founder of OoM Type digital type foundry!
